Our company provides high-quality training and equipment and our professional customer service is unrivalled. We pride ourselves on providing Dorset HGV training tailor-made to the client’s specific needs and requirements while remaining affordable.

When you come to us for HGV training, Dorset clients can expect us to offer a range of training courses for various license classifications. These different classifications include:
- Category C1
- Category C
- Category C+E
Category C1 License
A Category C1 (Cat C1) license is required for anyone wanting to drive a vehicle between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes, with a trailer up to 750kg. Adding the vocational entitlement C1 to upgrade your license could be useful both personally and professionally. It would allow you to drive privately owned horseboxes over 3.5 tonnes and you could find employment with many companies. With our HGV training in Dorset to achieve this, you could even become a paramedic or A&E support as part of the NHS team.
To take this course you must first pass a medical test, either through your GP or through our practitioner in Bournemouth. This medical test involves a health check on your eye sight, any existing medical conditions, and more. You will be required to take a D4 medical application with you which we can supply.
After passing the medical exam you will need to send the D4 medical form along with an application for a provisional C1 license and your current driving license to the DVLA. We then advise you start revising for the theory test you will need to take and pass. Training and practical tests will take place in the Bournemouth area and you will receive a tailored training course. Our courses for C1 training come in 4, 5, and 6 day options with the test taking place on the last day of the course. We also offer a C1 retest.
Category C License
A Category C (Cat C) license will enable you to drive vehicles over 3,500kg with a trailer up to 750kg. After your HGV training, Dorset clients will be able to drive commercial vehicles over 7.5 tonnes which includes rigid trucks, articulated lorries, tankers, transporters, and trailer wagons. The application process is the same as with the C1 courses, including a medical, provisional licence, and theory.
Your training and practical test will take place in the Bournemouth area and again, there is a range of courses to choose from. Our Cat C courses are available as 4, 5, and 6-day courses with the test on the last day and we also offer a Cat C retest.
Category C+E License
If you already have your Category C license but want to potentially earn more money, taking the Category C+E (Cat CE) courses could be the right option for you. This will give you the opportunity to drive an articulated lorry or a drawbar lorry, which are the largest vehicles in the industry.
Your Dorset HGV training for this license will take place in the Bournemouth area and there is no medical or theory test involved. The courses for this license are available as 4 or 5-day courses with your practical test taking place on the last day. We also offer a retest for this category, which includes a 1 hour training period before the retest.
